Curious about today's technology but not sure where to start? Join us for a relaxed introduction to technology terms and practical online safety tips. Learn how to recognize common scams, protect your personal information, and build confidence using technology in everyday life.
Designed with older adults and beginners in mind, this session is open to everyone 19+. You'll learn about:
Common technology terms explained in plain language
Smartphones, computers, Wi-Fi and the internet
Passwords, scams and online safety
Simple tips to build confidence with technology

Can anyone attend?

Yes this event is open to adults of all ages, but the material is geared towards supporting older adults and/or those new to using computers or mobile devices.
Will there be refreshments?

Not at the September 26th session. You may bring your own non-alcoholic beverage in a lidded cup or travel mug.
Can I attend even if I don’t have a library card?

Yes! If you would like to get your own free library card, please see library staff before or after our event. They will be delighted to help you register for a library account!
Do I need to bring my own device (laptop, mobile phone or tablet)?

It is not necessary for this event, but you can if you wish. If you will attend the 4-week session in November it's best to bring your own device if you have one (loaner devices may be available for the November series).
